General Terms
- Thank you for purchasing a product from Mitsubishi Electric Asia Pte Ltd (“us” or the “Company”).
- Your product is warranted against defective materials and manufacturing faults within the periods indicated hereinbelow or otherwise announced by us from time to time in accordance with these general warranty terms and conditions as set out below (the “Warranty Terms”). For the avoidance of doubt, the terms and conditions of any separately signed agreement between you and us, will prevail over these Warranty Terms to the extent of any inconsistencies.
- The applicable warranty period will commence from the date of purchase as indicated in your proof of purchase, being a sales receipt or invoice (the “Purchase Date”). Absent a valid proof of purchase, no warranty period shall accrue. In the event of any inconsistency between the date of purchase stated in the warranty application and the proof of purchase, the date of purchase reflected in the proof of purchase shall prevail. If a customer presents more than one proof of purchase, the earliest date indicated in any such proof of purchase will be the Purchase Date. For the avoidance of doubt, delivery and/or installation date (if different from the Purchase Date) shall not be deemed the Purchase Date.
- In respect of product(s) supplied under new development projects, warranty period will commence on the date stated in the blanket warranty issued by the Company, which must be presented for verification when requesting for service.
- No proof of purchase date will be considered an acceptable proof of purchase date unless the Company determines that it genuinely represents the true date of purchase. If the Company determines, or has reasonable grounds to suspect, that any proof of purchase: (a) has been altered, tampered with, or forged; (b) contains dates or information inconsistent with the Company’s records, bank statements, payment records, or third-party verification; or (c) otherwise misrepresents or inaccurately reflects the purchase timeline, the Company shall be entitled to reject such proof of purchase and deny, suspend, or invalidate any related warranty claim.
- Any requests for repairs, replacement of faulty parts, inspection or checking of the products outside of the Warranty Period will be chargeable.
Exclusions
- This warranty becomes void when, in relation to the product:
- The serial number is removed, defaced, illegible, or altered.
- Installation is to the wrong alternating current supply voltage or to abnormal voltage supply, or is otherwise not in accordance with the Company or manufacturer’s required specifications.
- Usage is for non-residential or commercial purposes, rental or loan to other users, or any other use which may subject the product to excessive, continuous, abnormal, or non-ordinary operating conditions beyond normal consumer use, or is otherwise not in accordance with the Company or manufacturer’s written instructions as published, distributed, or otherwise made available to the customer from time to time.
- Any alteration or modification, or unauthorised repairs is/are carried out.
- Routine maintenance servicing is not carried out.
For the avoidance of doubt, any transportation, delivery, handling, or other miscellaneous charges incurred in the inspection of any products for which warranty is voided based on the above grounds, shall not be covered by the Company, and shall be payable by you.
- This warranty does not cover, in relation to the product:
- Normal wear and tear, corrosion, rusting, or stains.
- Routine/non-routine maintenance servicing and/or cleaning.
- Defects or damage caused by or arising from accidents beyond the Company’s control, misuse, tampering, mishandling, or any other events beyond the Company’s reasonable control, including without limitation, natural disasters, war, acts or threats of terrorism, epidemics or pandemics (including COVID-19 and any variants), quarantines, strikes or other labour disturbances, acts or omissions of any governmental authority (including changes in applicable laws or regulations), or acts or omissions of you or your contractors or suppliers (where applicable), whether existing, foreseen, or unforeseen (“Force Majeure Events”).
- Costs of any accessories which are not essential to, or which do not affect the core functionality of, the product, including without limitation, any remote controls, cabinets, dust covers, plastic panels, filters, strainers, driers, refrigerant, extruding or detachable parts such as knobs, levers, sockets, plugs, and/or any other add-ons for the purposes of aesthetics, convenience, or comfort (“Accessories”). The definition of whether a part of the product constitutes an Accessory will be solely determined by the Company, and such determination shall be final and binding.
- Transportation, handling, or delivery charges incurred pursuant to the customer’s specific request for the relocation of the product from the installation location to any other location for inspection or repairs to be conducted.
- In relation to replacement of the compressor part specifically, all labour, transportation, and miscellaneous charges, subject to the Compressor Warranty.
- This Warranty does not cover special equipment/scaffoldings/cranes/false ceilings/concealed access to installation location necessary for accessibility or safety requirements. Where such equipment or access arrangements are required for installation, dismantling, inspection, maintenance, or repair, it shall be the sole responsibility of the customer to arrange and provide the same at its own cost and risk. The Company shall not be liable for any delay or inability to perform warranty services arising from the unavailability of such access or equipment. The Company reserves the right, acting reasonably and in its discretion, to impose additional charges in circumstances where the warranty claim gives rise to additional requirements or costs, including, without limitation, to make any equipment or access arrangements as aforementioned, site-specific access requirements such as permit applications, restricted-entry locations, or compliance with third-party site regulations (“Accessibility Charges”).
- This Warranty is only valid in Singapore. This Warranty shall not apply to the use of the product outside of Singapore, and/or in any other areas not accessible by road from mainland Singapore, including without limitation, Kusu Island, Pulau Tekong, and Pulau Bukom.
- The meaning of the term “Part” or “Parts”, whenever used in the Warranty Terms, shall mean the parts of the products, the costs of which are covered under Warranty, which excludes Accessories and shall be solely determined by the Company.
Warranty Periods for Specified Products
- In the event that the customer makes a warranty claim, the Company’s sole obligation shall be, at its discretion, to:
- repair or replace defective products; and/or
- re-perform the non-conforming services.
- In this section:
- “Limited Warranty” means the warranty coverage for the entire product and any Parts of the same (except for the compressor Part which is covered by the Compressor Warranty), which:
- includes any labour and transportation charges involved in providing the services under warranty, subject to section 8(5) above (“Labour and Transportation Charges”), and
- excludes the costs relating to or arising from any Accessories and any Accessibility Charges.
- “Compressor Warranty” means the warranty coverage for the compressor Part specifically, which:
- covers only the costs of the compressor Part, which will be supplied free of charge and shall be replaced with a new compressor Part, provided always that such replacement is carried out solely and exclusively by the Company, and subject always to the Company’s assessment and determination that the old compressor Part is in a condition recoverable by the Company under the Warranty Terms;
- includes any Labour and Transportation Charges during the first 12 months only, which shall be excluded thereafter; and
- excludes the costs relating to or arising from any Accessories (including without limitation, charging of refrigerant and replacement of components within the refrigeration circuit) and Accessibility Charges.
- The effective warranty periods for the below specified products shall be the stated time period commencing from the Purchase Date or from the date stated in the blanket warranty (as the case may be):

1 for the avoidance of doubt, Chiller products are not covered by these Warranty Terms.
- For the avoidance of doubt, evaluation charges may apply to any products inspected by the Company outside of warranty, whether or not repairs are subsequently conducted.
- The warranties set out herein are in lieu of all other warranties, conditions, and guarantees, whether written, oral, statutory, or implied.
Warranty Period for Products without Warranty Coverage
- Repairs or replacement carried out on products or parts that are not covered by warranty shall carry a one (1) month service warranty from the date of completion of repair or replacement, limited solely to: (a) the parts repaired/replaced pursuant to the Company’s recommendation; and (b) the same fault or defect for which the repair was originally conducted pursuant to the Company’s recommendation. This warranty does not extend to any new, different, or subsequent unrelated breakdown(s), fault(s), or defect(s) to the products or parts. For products or Parts that remain covered under the applicable product warranty, any repaired or replaced part of the products or parts supplied during the warranty period shall continue to be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period applicable to the product, or one (1) month from the date of replacement or repair, whichever is longer.
- Any repair or replacement carried out on products or parts pursuant to Clause 15 above shall not be subject to the one (1) month service warranty where: (a) the customer rejects or elects not to proceed with any part of the Company's recommended scope of repair or replacement; and (b) the same fault or defect for which the original repair or replacement was carried out subsequently recurs as a result of such deviation from the Company's recommendation.
- The one (1) month service warranty mentioned in Clause 15 above runs from the date of completion of the relevant repair or replacement and shall not restart, renew or be extended as a result of any subsequent repair or replacement.
- The Company reserves the right to amend, modify, or update the Warranty Terms from time to time, at its sole discretion and without prior notice to you.
