The Role
As a Legal Manager, you work closely with stakeholders to review, negotiate, and draft commercial contracts, legal documents, and internal policies, while providing practical legal support to manage legal and commercial risks. It is an excellent opportunity for qualified lawyers looking to transition from private practice into an in-house commercial legal environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
Commercial Legal Support
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including distributor, maintenance, service and non-disclosure agreements.
- Provide practical, business-focused legal advice to support commercial initiatives and day-to-day operational decisions.
- Identify legal and commercial risks and recommend solutions that align with the company's business objectives.
Business Partnership
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand the commercial objectives and deliver timely legal support.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and serve as a trusted legal advisor across the organization.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Develop and deliver legal training for employees to promote awareness of legal obligations and company policies.
Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing legal templates, workflows, and internal processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
Dispute Resolution
- Manage and resolve claims, disputes and other legal matters involving customers, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
Your Skills
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts.
Your Profile
- Minimum Bachelor of Laws (Honours) LLB.
- Admitted to the Singapore Bar.
- Approximately 2–3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in private practice and/or an in-house legal role.
- Commercially astute with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to details.
