Chiller Service Engineer

Job Description

As a Chiller Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of chiller systems and related HVAC equipment. You will also ensure reliable and efficient performance of cooling systems while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of chiller systems.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or control-related faults. 
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment breakdowns. 
  • Optimize chiller efficiency, energy consumption, and operating performance. 
  • Interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and operating manuals to diagnose and service equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies, and operational procedures. 
  • Coordinate with facility managers, contractors, and operations teams during maintenance or upgrades. 
  • Prepare maintenance reports, service records, and technical documentation. 
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide technical support when needed.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with customers by providing professional technical support and service.

Your Skills

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of refrigeration systems, chiller plant operations, HVAC controls, BMS systems, and electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with commercial or industrial chiller systems. 
  • Ability to identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend effective corrective actions 
  • Ability to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to make sound decisions during emergency or breakdown situations.
  • Good written communication for preparing service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation. 


Your Profile

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant disciplines.
  • 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC or chiller maintenance. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail and the ability to explain technical solutions clearly to customers.
