Mitsubishi Electric Asia Named Champion of Good for Driving its Corporate Purpose and Social Impact

Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore presented Mitsubishi Electric Asia with the highest distinction under the enhanced Company of Good Recognition system.

Mitsubishi Electric Asia was conferred the ‘Champion of Good’ by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) during the conferment ceremony on 18 July 2024. This marks the third time the company has been recognised for its exemplary accomplishments in driving and multiplying societal and environmental impact in Singapore

The Champion of Good (COG) award is the pinnacle recognition within the COG awards. It acknowledges organisations that lead by example in corporate giving and engage in collaborative efforts with stakeholders, showcasing a holistic approach towards contributing to society. This year, the enhanced COG framework goes beyond traditional metrics on corporate giving, and tracks an organisation's progress and impact across its corporate purpose and the five impact areas - People, Society, Governance, Environment, and Economy.

Mitsubishi Electric Asia stood among 78 organisations being recognised as Companies of Good in the 2024 cohort, for implementing meaningful initiatives that drive social change.

Mr. Kunihiko Seki, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric Asia, said: “This commendation from NVPC is a testament to our unwavering commitment to aligning our Corporate Purpose with the goal of realising a vibrant and sustainable society. From 2017 to 2022, Champion of Good was a national recognition initiative under NVPC’s Company of Good strategy, recognising organisations that are exemplary in doing good and have also been a multiplier by engaging their partners and stakeholders on a collaborative journey. 

With the launch of Corporate Purpose: A Framework and Blueprint for Businesses in Singapore, the Company of Good recognition has evolved to reflect and recognise organisations based on their Corporate Purpose adoption efforts and how they demonstrate positive impact across the People, Society, Governance, Environment and Economic dimensions. 

Since then, the national recognition has been expanded to be more progressive and inclusive under the Company of Good Recognition System, in which Champions of Good is now the highest of four categories- Champion of Good, Company of Good (1 heart, 2 hearts and 3 hearts).
