For a cleaner, greener and more sustainable transportation system, Mitsubishi Electric Asia and Mitsubishi Elevator Singapore have purchased an electric vehicle (EV) each in support of EV test-bed in Singapore. An EV is powered entirely by batteries, recharged using electric power source and propelled by an electric motor rather than an engine.
Design of our Electric Vehicle, Mitsubishi iMiEV
The design for EV is based on our environmental statement, Eco Changes. The graphic leaves trail represents the small steps we have taken to create a greener future. Both EVs of MEAP and MESP have the same design to identify as EV operated by Mitsubishi Electric Group companies in Singapore.

Background on Electric Vehicle test-bed
Singapore is set to be amongst the first countries in the world to test-bed an ecologically sustainable and integrated transport solution at the system level. Led by Energy Market Authority (EMA) and Land Transport Authority (LTA), the inter-agency EV Taskforce has launched its first EV test-bed on 25 June 2011. The test-bed will run for a period of three years.
The objective of the EV test-bed is to test and gauge different EV prototypes and charging technologies before deciding on mass adoption. With its compact urban environment and robust electrical grid and IT infrastructure, Singapore is well-positioned for the deployment of EVs.
