It is easier to build green buildings from the start as compared to 'greening' older buildings. Mitsubishi Electric building along Alexandra Road is almost 20 years old. Therefore it is a challenge to improve and sustain energy efficiency in the operations and maintenance of the building. Equipment and systems such as ventilation design and air conditioning systems fitted in the building then were not as technologically advance as now.
This has not deterred the management from enhancing the facilities through the years. In the process, Mitsubishi Electric range of energy efficient products have been incorporated and used in the building. Employees are also encouraged to play their part to save energy and be involved in environmental activities and practices.
Through everyone's effort, Mitsubishi Electric building has been awarded the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Gold award. The Management would like to take this opportunity to thank all employees who have contributed and supported the green initiatives.
